Two different iterations of the Mad Hatter’s hat from Alice in Wonderland
Chasing Alice
The hat made for the Mad Hatter in the short film Chasing Alice
The hat was made from a base of cardboard to which I attached a polyester velvet. the brim is a pleated brocade. I added a pocket to the side of the hat that was blended into the brocade fabric so the actor could store a prop in the hat.
Alice by Heart
Made for the character Harold Pudding/Hatter in a conceptual production of Alice by Heart.
Made out of a plastic WWII steel cap replica. The silhouette of the hat was built with steel wire and mesh draped over top, secured with glue.
